Our Location

So where exactly is Off The Hill B&B and how do you get here? We are situated on the Sleat (pronounced “slate”) peninsula on the Isle of Skye within a settlement made up of three hamlets, Isleornsay, Camarcross and Duisdale Beag. The B&B is literally just off the A851, 14 miles south from the Skye Bridge and 7 miles north of the Armadale ferry terminal. We will send you exact location and directions once you have confirmed your booking.

By road

If you are travelling from the north and Inverness you are probably going to approach the island via the Skye Bridge (there is no toll) The B&B is 95 miles (2hr drive) from Inverness, via either Achnasheen or Shiel Bridge. If you are approaching from the south you have two options; either the drive via Glen Garry or via the Mallaig ferry. The B&B is 55 miles (2hr drive) from Fort William, incorporating the ferry journey or 90 miles (2hr drive) again from Fort William, but via the very scenic Glen Garry and Shiel Bridge route.

By ferry

Arriving from the south and on the ferry is a wonderful way to approach the Sleat peninsula. Caledonian MacBrayne operate the Mallaig to Armadale ferry all year round.

By rail

ScotRail, Scottish railway network operate trains to both Kyle of Lochalsh and Mallaig (and then catch the onward ferry). By prior arrangement we could organise a pick-up/drop off at either Kyle of Lochalsh or Armadale.

By bus or coach

There is good public transport both to and around the island. Citylink operate coaches to/from most major Scottish cities including Glasgow, Inverness and Fort William. Again, by prior arrangement we could arrange a pick-up/drop off at Broadford. Stagecoach operates buses around the island, taking in most locations and sites; there is a bus stop, as part of the network, within a 5 min walk of the B&B.
